Tonight I drove through St. John Neumann Cemetery on my way home from work as I do once or twice a month. This cemetery is about a quarter of a mile from my home. It was shortly before 6:00pm and I drove up to the Pokemon Gym in the center of the cemetery. I was there for about 2 minutes, and then drove to the exit.
When I reached the exit, there was an employee who had blocked the exit with his car. I rolled down my window to see what was up. The man was obviously angry, and he let it out on me. He asked if I knew that the cemetery was private property and if I had any loved ones buried there. I answered "no" and "no". He then went into a rage and shouted "Take your Pokemon game and shove it up your @ss! Show some respect in a Catholic cemetery!" He repeated those same words to me three or four times.
Really? The man who is yelling to shove it up my @ss is going to teach me about showing respect in a cemetery? Strange.
If my adult children ever acted that way I would be appalled and embarrassed. The St. John Neumann Cemetery should be ashamed of themselves. If having a Pokemon Gym on their private property was an issue for them, then they should have made a request to Niantic Labs to have the gym removed. And for the record, I am a member of St. Jude Catholic church where there is a Gym and two Pokestops, and the congregation has never uttered profanity over this "problem".
I won't be making any burial plans with St. John Neumann Cemetery.Added August 09, 2016 by Mike DeAngelis
